We are a premier long range shooting school established in 2009, making us one of the oldest, most well-established shooting schools in the country. We established ourselves and our reputation on being the very best, based on a foundation of quality instruction and quality material. We want you to leave with a love for the art of shooting and with lots of new skills so you can continue to train and become the very best shooter you can be. We have many students who have also attended many of the other courses taught around the country and around the world. It is common for them to say that we "have the very best course they have ever attended!" We want you to have that same experience as well.
Professionally run!
The shooting school is taught in a professional manner. We have both men and women from a lot of different backgrounds and careers who attend. We also have, in many cases, younger students attending with adults. We hold ourselves to an extremely high standard in this area so that all are comfortable and safe and will have a great time attending.
Experience Matters!
It is said that you need 10,000 hours to master a skill. Jamie has well over 20,000 hours of experience in training and teaching students from all around the world. Add to that the more than 15,000 hours of personal training, qualifying, competing, rifle building and rifle R&D leading to two patents being awarded and you have one of the most experienced and knowledgeable instructors you could ever ask for. Our alumni include government/military personnel, police officers, professional competitors, serious hunters from around the world and even a winner of the entire PRS series. So, whether you're preparing for an upcoming hunt, competitive shooting, or law enforcement skills, we teach you the basics and advanced subjects that will set you up for success both on target and in the field! This is a precision rifle shooting class covering the many subjects listed below and under real world shooting conditions. This is a level 1 and 2 course and includes advanced subjects that every shooter should know and understand. A book is provided that has all class subjects, materials, and formulas that you, the shooter, can take home and have access to.
The course is written and instructed by Jamie Dodson.
Jamie has won and placed in many shooting and sniper matches over the years and has the real world knowledge to teach from experience learned on the firing line. Just as important, Jamie has won shooting rifles he built himself. Therefore, Wolf Precision's Long Range Shooting School gives you a unique opportunity to learn about the how's and why's of a great shooting rifle by a competitor as well as a true custom rifle builder and designer. With over a dozen years of owning and teaching the long range shooting school, Jamie's students are now coming up through the ranks and winning and placing in matches, some in their very first year. It is Jamie's love and passion for the art of long range shooting that he hopes to pass down for all to enjoy and share no matter what type of shooting sport they are applying it to.
Small Class Sizes with a maximum of 5 students in every class!
Our classes have 66% fewer students than most other schools. This is as close to one-on-one training as you can get!
Class size is very important as we want to be able to spend quality time with each and every student, and we do. There is nothing worse than attending a course and only getting a couple of minutes of instruction because you are surrounded by a sea of students and the chaos that accompanies it. So our classes are strictly limited to 5 students. Experience has taught us less is better. 5 students is the magic number to take the class from below average (15 students), to average (10 students), to great (5 students for 2024)! This is to give us more time covering subjects, answering questions and to make sure you leave thinking it was the best class you have ever attended. This is also a 100% suppressed class for both your safety and enjoyment while here at the school. Ammo and all required equipment can be provided for each student if needed!
Our goal is to share with you years of experience through the course. The course is challenging and little more expensive than others, but it will set you up for success both at the range and in the field. Please call and we can answer any questions you may have. We guarantee you will leave here more knowledgeable and confident in your shooting abilities!

Testimonials
Hello Jamie,
The long range shooting course we just completed on October 2, was excellent! I had a great time, and was very pleased with the quality of the instruction. The content and structure of the course seemed well developed, and made it not only very effective, but efficient too. Additionally, I appreciated that you and Walt were quite professional, stressing safety and keeping the course on track and on schedule, while still making the environment casual and fun. Well done. Also, I think the ability to “rent” one of your school rifles for the course is a tremendous feature, allowing someone like myself, without access to a suitable long range rifle, to get the most out of the course by avoiding equipment and ammo issues. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend the course to anyone interested in long range shooting, and I hope to attend again myself.
Sincerely,
Gerald H.
Jamie runs a great class. I learned a lot in a very comfortable environment with class of other great students. Jamie really knows his stuff and has put together a easy to follow presentation for transferring his lifelong accumulation of information and skills to his students. The class never turned into a sales pitch or hard sell for any gear or Wolf custom rifles (which I believe are amazingly well made), in fact I was putting off some purchases until I took the class and had a chance to see what others where using and what worked well for them, I'm glad I did - Jamie convinced me to buy a much cheaper version of something I was looking it.
Adam
Great class. I learned a lot. Coming in with basically zero real long range shooting experience was a bit intimidating but it was a very relaxed and encouraging atmosphere from the get-go. Heck I had never even shot from the prone position and I'm not exactly a small dude so I was worried about the, let's call them ergonomics aspects of it all 😬. However, the lower firing line has rubber mats on top of slate. Very comfortable to lay on. The upper line is nice grass. So not laying in the mud or anything. The classroom sessions were very well organized and the range time was very well run. I came to this school with the goal of being able to hit a target 1,000 yards away and this was accomplished on day 2. If I had it to do over again I would shoot a school rifle. One less headache and to be able to concentrate on the lessons being taught. Spotting for other shooters was also a great experience. Never in a million years did I think I'd be able to watch the "wake" of a bullet as it flys to the target! Also, I can't stress enough this was an actual school/learning experience. This wasn't a 3 day sales pitch to get you to buy one of Jamie's rifles. Now that being said, seeing them perform on the range is pretty much enough to sell you on one though. So be warned you're gonna want one!

Jamie,
I wanted to thank you for the education I received at your class. The confidence and calmness I have now to wait for the shot at long distances is only due to your teaching of the fundamentals of this sport. I now want to shoot targets beyond 500 yards daily. This ability is due to your teaching of everything that happens before the trigger is pulled and the education continues after the shot also because of your teaching at the class. Thanks again for a great time and great instruction.
Bret Hasbrouck
Hi Jamie,
I really did enjoy the school. Learned a ton! You guys did great teaching something that is so super complicated. Before the school the longest shot I had ever even attempted was 200 yards off a bench rest. Even shooting from prone position was a big change for me. In fact I just bought a real bipod days before the class.
I grew up shooting and hunting in Ohio with a shotgun. Then went off to college and career and kids, haven't been hunting or shot a gun in 20 years until basically 7-10 months ago. So that inexperience, combined with a $1,000 factory rifle (that couldn't even accept a damn suppressor), and a $700 scope mean things were not exactly stacked in my favor. Yet STILL, on day 2 I was able to hit a target 1,000 yards away! That was literally mission accomplished right there. Everything after that was bonus. I am blown away to be able to watch a bullet impact a piece of steel then wait, literally wait, for the sound to finally bounce back. I never even imagined I would be able to see a bullet trail through the air and watch where it actually goes. I am beyond thrilled with that.

Hi Jamie
My take from your school is pieces of knowledge we acquire over time can become more valuable if you know how to apply them together. It was amazing in what a clear and concise manner Jamie was able to pull together the big picture.
My take on the Rifle is with excellent equipment shooting becomes way more effortless. The rifle Jamie build for me enables me to do that. Never a doubt in my mind about the rifle being able to do it's part.
Zero cold bore, super smooth action, no barrel temperature issues, simply place the bullet on the target.
Thank you Jamie for building an excellent rifle for me.

Hey, Jamie.
I’m unwinding after the drive home but wanted to thank you for a great class. When learning new skills is coupled with having fun while doing so, it’s makes the effort really rewarding.
Best regards

“I would highly recommend any Law Enforcement Sniper/Observer take this course. The subject matter covered in this course directly relates to situations encountered by law enforcement snipers who might need to be able to engage targets beyond 100-200 yards. Even if that is beyond the range you typically encounter, the fundamentals learned easily translate into making you a better shooter at short range. Not only will you learn from this course, but you will have a great time doing it. Jamie and his assistant instructors are all well versed in the art of long range shooting and do an excellent job in sharing their knowledge.”

Jamie,
Just wanted to let you know that I learned alot and had a great time. It was very nice meeting you and the other people in the class. Thank you for all your help and patience in assisting me with Long Range Shooting. I will whole heartedly recommend this class to everyone I know who is interested in Long Range Shooting and those that hunt. I cannot thank you enough. It was a pleasure meeting you.

Just a quick note to express my appreciation for putting on such a fun and educational long range shooting school. I learned a lot over the three days (and those formulas kept running through my head as I drove back to Indiana). Now I just need to find a range that can has those kind of distances...unfortunately, I think the closest one to where I live is about 2-3 hours away. Regardless, you'll probably see me again next year! You asked for feedback on the course and honestly, I thought it was great. You have an excellent demeanor and a lot of patience for handling a group with such a varied background. It's really cool to see newbies (such as Steve) perform so well. The subject material was well covered in your notebook. I don't think it is too much to cover in 3 days, but it is a fair amount to digest and apply on the range. The most valuable exercise for me was your "range test" on the final day. Being able to use mil-dots in ranging the targets within 25 yards of their actual distance was a bonus...I was not expecting to learn that technique. Then shooting only 2 shots at numerous targets at varied distances was an excellent exercise...it obviously required us to set our scopes with the correct MOA and then gauge the windage adjustment, but it put enough pressure on us to make it our best effort. If there was anything for improvement, I would just say keep the cows off the shooting pad :) Again, thanks for putting on such an excellent class. Regards, Jerry
Jamie,
I just wanted to tell once again how enjoyable your Precision Shooting class was. To say I was impressed is like saying a Ferrari is just another car – TERRIFIC job!
