Reloading Made Simple

Picture

Going into our 3rd year for teaching the art of reloading, we are not just proud of the class, but we are proud of the students who have taken the time to attend! Seeking out knowledge and wisdom to help get the most of anything you do in life is not just a good investment of your time and resources, but is crucial to get through the weeds and bushes of the mountains of both good and bad information available everywhere. It is not uncommon for folks to mention that just the first morning of class alone was worth the price of admission. By the end of day two, many students realize that there were many costly mistakes made in both making their ammo and in resources lost by buying the wrong equipment.

I want to share this last classes story, which just finished up on April 14th. None of the five students reloaded rifle ammo before. All shot just 1 five shot group on the second day with the ammo they loaded here at the school and all were incredible, averaging .5 moa on their first try. To say the least, these reloaders proved to be good shooters too! Students tested their newly reloaded ammo with school rifles that they have never shot before this class. So to be fair, new rifles can feel a bit strange. But all students took to the task of shooting itty bitty groups with the ammo they made here at the school that day! These results would make any instructor proud!

I wanted write this to share that although we have many new high tech tools and gadgets available to us nowadays, making quality ammunition is not difficult, nor is it dependent on the high end gear available now. It's about good sound common sense practices applied to the simple tools required to size brass properly, measure seating depth, seat primers, throw the powder charge and seat the bullet. Doing this with sound simple, consistent practices and techniques will make even the new reloader look like a pro every time.

Thank you everyone who attended this past class. It was a pleasure having you all here and we certainly appreciate your choosing to come here to learn the art with us. It was an honor and privilege! Now get out there and make some world class ammo.
